To all members of the Umass Dartmouth Gaming Society,

Let me first introduce myself a little better to those of you I have just met, and let me give you more details about myself. My name is Daniel Aaron Chaplin, I am 19 (20 on January 27, 2006), I’m a Franklin High School graduate, I live at Chestnut while on campus and in Franklin, MA when not on campus. I have played many video games in my life time, I was a former Hard core gamer, and I own every system but XBOX at the moment. Also I love Anime, I play PC games, I love to act, I love high tech things, I am an experienced D&D player, and I have never done this before.
With that being said, I expect to make mistakes and fail at things. I know that I am not perfect, and I don’t expect that from anyone; however, I do expect one thing. And that is respect for one another. This club is not about getting together just to play video games, Magic the gathering, or Role Playing; is about socializing and building relationships with one another.
Now in order to do that I have some goals for this club, which include the following:
1. To further build friendly relationships with one another.
2. To have a weekly meeting that will have video gaming, and casual Magic the Gathering (or other card games if you want).
3. To continue to have GMs offer RPG games through the club.
4. To have a least one major event for Magic the gathering, Video Gaming, and Role Playing in the semester. (Please that is one event for each of those sections)
5. To listen to any ideas or concern that any member has for this club ( this is more of a personal goal than club)

I promise that I will put in a lot of hard work and effort to make this club more fun for everyone, and in return I will put in as much effort as I can to run things that you would like. I will always make myself available to listen to other member’s ideas, and I will help that member make his or her idea come true.
Now for events for next semester, I have some things in mind, and here they are.

My Plans for Spring Semester
• Big events
o An RPG book library exclusive for GM with this group
o A PC LAN party
o Video Game Tournaments (Super Smash Brothers, Soul Caliber III, and more)
o RPG Marathon (all night or all day marathon)
o Magic the Gathering Limited (Draft or Sealed) tournament
o (Note about all tournaments, they will have prizes this time around)
• Smaller events
o RPG games ( also having an exclusive “Beginners only RPG game” )
o Casual Game nights ( Casual Video Game and Magic the Gathering play)

Over Winter break I am focusing my energy over the top 3 big events (The RPG book library, LAN party, and a Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament). I hope to have all the plans for those things 90% done when I return to school.

The only I ask everyone who is read this is to do is, please email me their best day to make a general meeting at 6:00 during the first week of school.

Sincerely, Your President

Okay please remember I'm still in the planning stages.

I have a 24 port Hub at my disposal. The idea right now is to book one of the common rooms in Oak Glen in February. Start in the afternoon, and go until the wee hours of the morning.

The games played there will depend on two things: 1. The games I currently own, and that other members own. 2. The requirements for those games.

As much as I would love to play high end games like Half Life 2, and Battlefield 2. I know that a majority of the Labtops and PCs here on Campus can't run them; however, if I lean that I am wrong than I will change this of coarse. Right now I'm considering games like Warcraft III, Dawn of War, Half Life 1, and Starcraft. Feel free to post the games you would like to play. I think you have said something about Quake 3 on this forum before.

As for the rest of the set up. It would be by preregistration ( via email me) and at the door registration. THe port only goes up to 24, so that is the limit. I do plan on charging money for the event, which is to cover for food mainly.

Any other question feel free to call or email me. If you have any better ideas for games, post them here.

PS. As for Burning CDs, speak to me on AIM (ChaplinD97) for an answer.
